Pipeline Work

Right-of-Way Prep, Trenching Support & Corridor Restoration

WYO Services supports pipeline projects with the dirt work that happens before, during, and after the pipe goes in the ground.

Overview

Supporting Pipeline Projects From Clearing to Restoration

Excavation equipment preparing a pipeline corridor

Pipeline construction depends on ground work — clearing the right-of-way, grading the corridor, supporting the trenching operation, and restoring the land after the pipe is buried. That dirt work is what WYO Services does.

As an emerging service line, our pipeline support builds on the same earthwork, grading, and reclamation capabilities we've used across the Powder River Basin since 2012. We bring the equipment, the operators, and the knowledge of local terrain and regulatory requirements to keep pipeline projects moving on schedule.

What We Do

Pipeline Support Capabilities

Right-of-Way Preparation

Clearing, grubbing, and grading pipeline corridors to spec — including topsoil stripping and stockpiling for later restoration.

Trenching Support

Excavation support alongside pipeline crews, including trench preparation, spoil management, and padding material placement.

Backfill & Compaction

Backfilling over installed pipe with proper material placement and compaction to prevent settling and protect the line.

Corridor Restoration

Recontouring disturbed ground to match surrounding terrain, replacing topsoil, and seeding with approved native mixes.

Access & Temporary Roads

Building and maintaining temporary access roads along the right-of-way for construction traffic, then removing them during restoration.

Erosion & Sediment Control

Installing silt fence, water bars, erosion blankets, and other controls required along pipeline corridors during and after construction.

Our Process

How Pipeline Support Work Progresses

  1. ROW Survey & Planning

We review the corridor route, identify terrain challenges, and coordinate with the pipeline contractor on sequencing, access points, and material staging.

  2. Clearing & Grading

The right-of-way is cleared of vegetation, grubbed, and graded to provide a working surface for pipe stringing and welding crews.

  3. Trench Support

We support trenching operations with excavation, spoil placement, and padding material — working in coordination with the pipe crew's pace.

  4. Backfill

After the pipe is lowered in and inspected, we backfill the trench with select material, compact in lifts, and bring the surface back to grade.

  5. Restoration

The corridor is recontoured to match original terrain. Topsoil is respread, erosion controls are installed, and the area is seeded for revegetation.

  6. Final Inspection

We walk the completed corridor with your team and the landowner or agency representative to verify restoration meets specifications and permit conditions.

FAQ

Common Questions About Pipeline Work

What types of pipeline work does WYO Services handle?

We handle the earthwork side of pipeline projects — right-of-way clearing and grading, trenching support, backfill, and corridor restoration. We work alongside pipeline installation crews, handling the dirt work so they can focus on the pipe.

How much pipeline experience does your crew have?

Pipeline support is an emerging service line for WYO Services, built on our core capabilities in earthwork, grading, and reclamation. Our operators have years of experience running the same equipment and performing the same ground work that pipeline projects require. We bring that skill set into pipeline corridors.

What equipment do you have available for pipeline work?

We run dozers, excavators, motor graders, and compaction equipment suited for corridor clearing, trenching support, backfill, and grading. Equipment specifics depend on corridor width, terrain, and project requirements — we'll match the iron to the job during scoping.

How do you handle reclamation after pipeline installation?

We recontour the corridor to match surrounding terrain, replace stockpiled topsoil, install erosion controls, and seed with native mixes approved for the area. Our reclamation approach follows the same methods we use on well pads and access roads across the Powder River Basin — work that has to meet BLM, WDEQ, and landowner standards.

Have a Pipeline Project Coming Up?
